Senior centres in the lives of older Americans: implications for Chinese older adults

As a critical community resource, the senior centre has provided older Americans with a wide array of recreational, nutritional, health, and social service programmes. Funding resources include the Older Americans Act allocations, local organisations and governments, national charities, voluntary associations, and religious associations. The types of programmes offered at a senior centre reflect two models: social agency model or voluntary organisation model. The five most popular programmes are nutrition, health and fitness, recreation, volunteering, and social services. Participation in senior centre activities has positive impacts on the overall well-being of older adult participants. With the rapid growth in the ageing population and improved life expectancy in China, senior centres may serve as a focal point for Chinese older adults by providing a broad spectrum of social services to enhance the well-being of community-dwelling older adults, to support their independence and dignity, and to facilitate ageing in place in later life.     

论竞争条件下多销售渠道并存的航空货运舱位控制问题

在航空货运市场竞争日趋激烈的环境下，基于竞争的收益管理问题已经成为管理科学界的研究热点之一。针对竞争条件下的两个航空货运公司两个舱位的容量控制问题，利用博弈论的方法，建立了代理市场和现货市场并存时两公司两子舱的水平竞争的三方博弈模型，并详细分析了在 Stackelberg博弈中货运代理商的最优订购决策以及两个航空货运公司在 Cournot 博弈中的最优反应函数的性质。结果表明：如果在位者不在代理市场上销售运力，那么进入者也绝对不会提供代理市场的舱位，也就是说，如果在位者没有动力提供代理市场的运力，则代理市场将不会存在。     

信息共享空间的构建与创新服务——以河北工程大学图书馆为例

信息共享空间是近几年发展起来的一种新生事物，给传统的图书馆服务模式带来了严峻的挑战，以河北工程大学图书馆信息共享空间建设为例，分析了实体层和虚拟层两个层面建设的内容，介绍了信息共享空间的创新服务，并就信息共享空间的深层次服务提出了对策建议。     

Being a service user and a social work academic: balancing expert identities

Abstract

I am a service user and academic working in a university social work department. My hybrid identity allows me to draw on different types of knowledge in all aspects of my work, including: academic, practice and experiential wisdom. Service user involvement is mandated across social work education but the scope and breadth of different kinds of participation is developed in diverse ways across university contexts. This article affirms the value of service user involvement in health and social care education, exploring its positive impact on students. When lecturers share personal experience of using services alongside practice and academic wisdom in the course of teaching, sometimes the value of experiential knowledge is doubted and its influence dismissed. I examine the importance of experiential wisdom in social work education, specifically when it is embedded in an academic role in a university social work department, and consider how it can be respected and valued. The parallel experiences of involving peer support workers in mental health services, who use their knowledge of recovery to mentor other service users, are then briefly examined, together with reflection of the concerns across mental health with professionals sharing their experiential wisdom with the people that they support.

给读者提供平等的信息服务是现代图书馆首要的核心理念。现代网络信息技术恰好为个性化服务提供了方便。个性化服务需要图书馆员付出许多特殊的劳动,为保持服务平等性的纯洁,可采取适当对其提供了特殊服务的读者用服务收费的办法来实现平等服务的宗旨,以取得与普通读者平等的待遇,从而实现平等服务和个性化服务的两全其美。

The Impact of In-Home Services Utilization on the Institutionalization of Older People in Korea

As a result of aging populations, institutionalization of older people is creating an increasing financial burden in many countries. The purpose of the present study was to explore the impact of in-home service utilization on institutionalization. The subjects were newly certified as eligible for long-term care insurance between January and February 2009 in Korea. The follow-up period was 40 months, to April 2012. We used logistic regression models to identify factors influencing the transition to institutional service, adjusting for gender, age, living status, income level, activities of daily living, and chronic disease. The institutionalization rate was estimated to be 17.3% over 40 months. The interval from transitional living to institutionalization was 36 ± 8 months. Risk factors of transition to institutional services are being female, having advanced age, living with friends or cousins, getting dementia, and not using in-home services. We determined that institutionalization is mitigated by use of in-home services. Therefore, supplying appropriate in-home services to current nonusers would help to greatly reduce the rate of institutionalization of older people.     

跨区域教学交流对设计创新思维影响的探究

工业设计学生创新能力的培养已经成为教育界迫在眉睫的事情,不同的学校根据各自的办学特色都在探索不同的方法。本文依据自身的实践教学,重点探讨了跨区域教学交流对培养学生创新能力的影响。跨区域交流能够为师生提供一个良好的创新平台;通过这一平台,合理利用设计院校间的差异性能够扩大学生创新思维的广度、推进思维的深度,同时有利于各自设计课程体系的验证和修订。     

Female Perceptions of Organizational Justice

This study examines women's conceptualization of the pervasive construct of organizational justice. A comprehensive four factor model was used to represent organizational justice while outcome variables were the important employee attitudes of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intentions. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse responses from 301 male and 147 female respondents. Differences were found for procedural, interpersonal and informational justices. It would appear female and male employees have differing responses to perceptions of justice. Justice had a diffuse effect for males, but not for females. For men, interpersonal justice predicted an increase in organizational commitment while procedural justice predicted a decrease in turnover intentions. For female employees, informational justice was found to increase commitment and reduce turnover intentions. The study highlights the need for all justice factors to be considered and for sex differences to be considered in future justice research.
